So the season ended, and Detroit has one of the worst teams in NFL history. What to do? As Draft Day approaches, the obvious answer is to draft a quarterback at #1, but the Lions may not be so eager to jump on the Matt Stafford bandwagon. Detroit loves Sam Bradford, and he’ll be there for the taking next year.

If you eliminate spanish stations, these are probably the ONLY three sports radio stations in the metroplex. But who’s counting?

MavsUpdate Blog for Sale

by David on April 22, 2009

I love my Mavs. But sports blogging isn’t my full-time job. Due to life circumstances, I’ve moved my sports coverage over to DallasProSports.com. I like to cover the Mavericks and the Cowboys, and it makes no sense to cover both on a Mavs blog or two run two separate blogs. So I created DallasProSports.com to allow me to cover both (and potentially the Stars and Rangers as well – if I can find a few writers). So I’m putting this site up for sale.

Four figure offers minimum.

Ever since the meltdown last year, the majority of Mavs fans and writers have criticized the Jason Kidd trade. Worst of all, we told ourselves and the world that Jason Kidd can’t shoot, and therefore can’t score.

A lot of speculation floating around these days about a Shaq to Dallas deal. Mostly because Shaq and Mark Cuban have been such good friends over the years. That, and the fact that Phoenix will make Shaq the scapegoat for all their failures this season (which is ridiculously unfair, but whatever).

Put on your thinking caps. What does Dallas gain from a Shaquille O’Neal acquisition? What do they lose?

After what has seemed like an eternity, the Chicago Bears have a REAL quarterback. That’s right. You’re not hallucinating. Jay Cutler is a Chicago Bear, and Bears fans everywhere have a reason to be excited for the first time since…. well, we forget since when. It’s been that long.

Undoubtedly, the answer must be Josh Howard. He is one of the only players with trade value and skills recognized around the league. The problem is, Josh’s PR wreck of a year last year earned him dubious status around the league. On top of that, his performance has been lackluster and he’s been injured a few times.

Will the Mavericks blow up the team and trade Dirk? Not likely, though who wouldn’t be interested in a Chris Bosh or Blake Griffin in a Mavs uniform?
