If you missed the Sunday Night Football game, you missed a battle. The final score was Ravens 20 – Steelers 17. It took a field goal in overtime to clench the victory as Ben Roethlisburger’s replacement Dennis Dixon nearly led Pittsburgh to victory. A late 4th Quarter interception clinched the 4th Quarter tie.

WOW! For one week at least, the Monster got its groove back, finishing with 24 carries for 194 yards and one touchdown to go along with 4 receptions for 42 yards in the Cowboys’ 24-7 Thanksgiving Day thumping of the Oakland Raiders. The Monster was responsible for two of the biggest plays of the game and and had a much bigger impact on this game than in previous weeks.

Not much change in the standings as the Mavs continue to lead the division while the Spurs overtook the Rockets for 2nd place.

We got our wish this week as extra emphasis was placed on the run game against the Redskins. What did we get for having our wish fulfilled? A lot of yards on the ground (149 total) but not much scoring. In fact, the once-vaunted Cowboys offense was once again held to a single touchdown on the day. Thankfully, Washington’s offense has been pathetic all year and that continued in a 7-6 Cowboys victory at the Death Star Sunday afternoon.

For the past two weeks, I have been doing a double take on my calendar and making sure the month does indeed read November and not December. For the second week in a row the Cowboys again only managed to place 7 points on the board, but thankfully we happened to be playing a team that wanted to lose worse than we did.
Once again, I am searching for answers on just who is to blame for this week’s offensive disaster. Last week, I placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of Garrett going beyond pass-happy. Did history repeat itself once again this week?

In this space each week will be a report on the goings on in the NBA’s Southwest Division.
Standings W-L
Dallas 10-3
Houston 7-6
San Antonio 4-6
New Orleans 5-8
Memphis 4-8

Is Dallas an elite team in the NFL? If last week’s loss to Green Bay is any indication, the answer is a resounding “NO”. But let’s be fair to our boys in blue and see what the stats say about America’s Team. Do they measure up with the best in the NFL? Let’s find out.

The trusty stats book strikes again! This one doesn’t bode well for our beloved Cowboys. As of Week 10, the Washington Redskins are #1 in pass defense for fewest yards allowed.
To be fair to our Arlington Cows, let’s break it down. Let’s see who Washington’s played and whether the numbers are fair.
