After losing to the Packers in Green Bay I think my basic question is back on the table: Do the Cowboys make it to and win in the playoffs? I thought going into Green Bay game the Boys ought to have run the ball much much more:
- off tackle with Barbarian
- end around with Jones
- play action with Choice.
They did not. In spite of possessing a three headed monster they still scripted Romo dropping back and reading options.
Going into this season I projected that those who wear the star would finish at a hoo-hum, lack luster 9-7 record. I have bit my lip these past 5 weeks (in which Tony has been stellar and the Cowboys have been winning), but now want to again throw out this question: Are the Cowboys ready for prime-time?
If you “look at the schedule” as esteemed columnist Woody Paige always states, it is quite conceivable that Romo & Co. are quite as pedestrian as we originally thought.
- Yes the Cowboys are atop the East.
- Yes Romo has magic in the month of November
- Yes they have replaced TO/81 with a serviceable core of Austin/Williams/others
But I think this team may be on the verge of imploding. The performance at Green Bay was an eye opener. Holes were exposed. Let’s first though look at the schedule:
11/22 Host Washington
11/26 Host Oakland
12/06 at Meadowlands/Giants
12/13 Host San Diego
12/19 at Superdome/Saints
12/29 at Washington
1/03 Host Philadelphia
We can dice and dissect this ad nauseum, but let’s just consider a few paths:
- Cowboys are awesome and go 5-2 the rest of the season
- Cowboys suck and go 2-5
- Whatever. They lose in the play-offs. Again.
I personally think 4-3 is about right. Yes 10-6 and again once again they exit in playoff December. Is there any reason to dissuade me?
In Summary,
- I am not a Cowboy coach and do not script the play book.
- I do not participate in the weekly practices.
- I do not study film and adjust.
What I do is watch the game. And the game in Green Bay left me with many questions.

R the Cowboys ready to make and win in the to make play-offs? NO I do not think so.
the Green Bay game showed me lots of holes
say what you want. the Cowboys are 10-6 and lose in the first round
no red headed jesus here. I just want to see the effin boys run
off tackle, off end,
off DO IT
I say 5-2, the Green Bay game was an outlier. They went away from the run; GB played it like the Super Bowl; and two CRUCIAL errors took any shot away from Dallas (one by Roy Williams, One by Jeff Triplett). That being said, these next few weeks are crucial for Dallas. They need to get back to establishing the run, and getting the pressure off of Romo.
does anyone disagree with a 10-6 speculation? And if so, where are they in the post season? There is no way they can beat either New Orleans or Minnesota.
