The Cowboys and Eagles are ready to face off for the first time this season. We’re two days away from the big NFC East matchup, and it’s time to get a fresh perspective on the game.

Today we’re going behind enemy lines to talk with Philadelphia Eagles blogger Scott Tunstall. Scott is the Lead Blogger for InsidetheIggles.com, one of the premiere Eagles fan sites and part of the FanSided.com Sports Network.

Let’s get started.

DPS: Romo or McNabb? Which quarterback has the advantage this weekend and why?

ST: Both are playing well right now. Actually, Romo has been sharp the last three games. Don is coming off his best game of the season. I would say McNabb has the edge because he’s at home. Romo has had his struggles against the Birds defense in Philly.

DPS: Does Dallas have a shot at stopping DeSean Jackson?

ST: They will have to keep a safety over the top at all times to contain his deep speed. Jackson is not seeing a lot of passes thrown his way, but he only needs one to hurt a defense. If the Boys play smart and don’t lose track of him, they can keep him under control.

DPS: Which Cowboy is the most respected/feared as far as offensive production?

ST: The Eagles have always had problems with Jason Witten. Hell, they have problems with all tight ends, but one as talented as Witten is especially dangerous. I don’t care what his numbers look like this year, he will make plays against the guys in green.

DPS: Does the Philly defense have the chops to reach Romo and knock him off his rhythm?

ST: Sure they do. They love beating up quarterbacks, and are well aware if they don’t turn up the heat on Romo, it will be a long night. Trent Cole is playing out of his mind right now. Flozell better be on his game.

DPS: What should we expect both running back squads to do this weekend?

ST: Not much. I think Dallas will be more committed to establishing the run than Philly, but this game will be won or lost through the air.

DPS: Any predictions or nuggets Cowboys fans might be missing about this Eagles team?

ST: Outside of the Raiders debacle, the Eagles offensive line has been excellent in pass protection. If the Cowboys are going to win, they better find a way to hit McNabb early and often. If he has time to set up and pick his target, the Boys are in big trouble.

DPS: Very true. Thanks for the insight, Scott. We’re looking forward to an epic matchup this coming Sunday night.

Awesome game! The Defense of the Cowboys seemed to effect the ebb and flow of Donovan more so than vice versa.

Not lame at all Daniel because when two teams like this, who appear quite evenly matched at the moment, meet... EVERYTHING MATTERS. Think back to Parcells' first game against the Eagles when Andy Reid tried that onside kick and Dallas took it the house!

  • As lame as this may sound, I wonder if special teams will be the make or break factor. Both teams have stellar kick returners. If one of them breaks out for a touchdown, it could shift the momentum enough to put a team over the top.

You have to be kidding me if you think Dallas has a chance. This eagles team is unstoppable right now.

Look for Romo to get 2 picks and a fumble after the Eagles have ruffed him up a bit.

Is Westbrook gonna be healthy this week? If not, Cowboys all the way.
  • Just heard confirmation that Westbrook WILL play against the Cowboys.
  • I haven't heard the definitive word on Westbrook yet. Stay tuned.

I'd be more worried about Felix Jones than Jason Witten. He hasn't been as much of a factor over the past three or four games.

Not at all worried about Flozell. He'll deliver the goods. He kept the Giants' top dog out of the mix for the whole game. He can handle Trent Cole.
