I know the crazy stat where the Cowboys have a winning record in the games where they have more penalties for more yards, but that won’t cut it in the playoffs.

There is no love lost between Philadelphia Eagles fans and Dallas Cowboy fans. For decades, beginning in the old three divisional NFC structure, the Cowboys and Eagles played each other twice a year in the NFC East. And the history of these contests is rich with bad mouthing, bashing, even some questionable antics by the players; both on and off the field. Then there are the games themselves. It seems year in and year out this rivalry has produced some very memorable outcomes. To be honest, it developed and survives due to two major factors:
The Cowboys definitely made me eat my words this past Sunday. The Cowboys were flat out dominant against the Eagles in round two of their three round bout. For the most part, the worries I had last week about the lack of execution that plagued the Washington effort were not to be found this time around. Last week I felt like the Cowboys were fortunate to have a great defensive effort. This week I felt like they could not be stopped.
The Cowboys went to Washington and got themselves a shutout, beating the Redskins 17-0. In the process, they snatched up the last available playoff spot in the NFC (thanks Giants!).If the Cowboys are going to advance in the playoffs, there are some issues that need to be ironed out in the run game.
Cowboys fans, we all got a very nice Christmas present from our ‘Boys in the form of a sweep of the Redskins, a shutout, and, most importantly, a playoff berth. While we can’t be quite sure exactly where the Cowboys will eventually settle in the post-season picture, one thing is for certain: this series has been given an extra week of life!
In an absolute stunner, the Dallas Cowboys went to the Superdome and played what could arguably have been their best game since they defeated the undefeated Colts a few years ago. This was quite a performance by a team that absolutely had to get a win… and boy did they ever!
I’m sure many Cowboys fans are asking what I have been ever since I saw the clock hit 0:00 Saturday night: “Where has THAT been all season?!”
This game was completely unlike any other we’ve seen all season. The Cowboys not only scored on their first drive for the first time this season, but also their second drive as well as their opening drive of the second half. Make no mistake about it, the offense put on one of their most dominate performances all season.

Swoon over? For one week, at least, you bet! The Cowboys stunned everyone but themselves by taking down the previously unbeaten New Orleans Saints at the Superdome, 24-17.
For the first time in a while, the Monster, two-thirds of it at least, played a significant part in the win, totaling 32 carries for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, as well as 2 catches for 21 yards.
Jason Reid of the Redskins Insider wrote yesterday that he received a text message from former Redskins kicker Shaun Suisham that he has a tryout scheduled Monday (today) with the Dallas Cowboys.

Saturday was the best the Cowboys have looked all year long.
Not only did they beat an outstanding team in the Saints, but they beat them on the road and in a hostile, loud environment.
I think the Cowboys have finally realized that their receivers don’t have the separation speed. And so they changed their offense and became more methodical.
I woke up the day after a Cowboy game feeling good for a change; probably for the first time in a month. Not only had the Cowboys won in December, and put to rest the December Doldrums “at least for this week” as Tony Romo stated in his post game comments, but they managed to do so against the New Orleans Saints, who Deion Sanders has dubbed “America’s Hope” for the 2009 season. This win also ended the Saints improbably run at a perfect 16-0 record.
