Matt Mosley of ESPN reports that Dallas Cowboys have cut Patrick Watkins, a defensive safety. Watkins had plenty of playing time last season, but has been ousted by newcomers Barry Church and Danny McCray, not to mention the much improved play of Alan Ball.
According to Mosley, Martellus Bennett broke the news on Twitter (big surprise), and voiced his own personal sadness at the parting of a friend.
