Ok, I like Mark Cuban, but I don’t think he understands the implications of what’s going on. Sure, he can probably turn things around in a heartbeat, but really? Cuban was asked what the deal is with Dirk’s knee, and he said:
“It’s not about his knee. His knee wasn’t feeling well, but that’s a symptom of everything else. So, it’s not like there’s some problem. Even if it was his head, we would still do the exact same thing.”
“There’s nothing specifically wrong. Dirk has a process to get ready. You mess with the process; he just didn’t feel right. It’s not just Dirk, it’s other guys, too. It’s a first for us in dealing with a lockout.”
“He’s probably not going to be the last player we sit for days. We’ll see how everybody feels. I told you guys this is going to be more like a baseball season. We’re going to rest guys.”
Really? I know you’ll sit people, but this is Dirk. He’s tall. He’s old. You have to be careful. He’s your whole franchise. You’re not concerned? I’m very concerned because you have to wear kid gloves with him and his health. You have to or this team goes in the tank.
So, is Mark Cuban insane? Yeah. We already knew that, but I don’t think he understands that we all see what’s going on. The smokescreen is not very believable. You can’t just play this off as if you will sit Dirk and it’s all good because it’s not really about his knee. It’s ALL about his knee. When you’re that tall, it’s all about your joints. Heck, when you’re not that tall it’s all about your joints.
Be careful with Dirk, by all means, but please don’t insult our intelligence by pretending like it’s not a problem.
