Ravens Eeks Out a Win Against Steelers

If you missed the Sunday Night Football game, you missed a battle. The final score was Ravens 20 – Steelers 17. It took a field goal in overtime to clench the victory as Ben Roethlisburger’s replacement Dennis Dixon nearly led Pittsburgh to victory. A late 4th Quarter interception clinched the 4th Quarter tie.

I was more than a little impressed with Dixon’s passing skills. He connected on a lot of 10+ yard passes to Steelers wide receivers. Even more impressive, since Dixon is the 3rd string QB (2nd string Batch has a broken wrist).

Dixon completed 12/26 for 145 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. It wasn’t his stats that impressed me. He made mature throws into small pockets for good yardage.

Baltimore’s Ray Rice is unstoppable. He contributed 88 yards rushing and his total yards topped 150. I wasn’t too impressed with Joe Flacco, but he WAS pounded quite a few times by that Steelers defense. Flacco fumbled twice in the game, once turning it over to the Steelers. The one thing I noticed about Flacco throughout the game was how he kept overthrowing his receivers, especially on the long bombs.

I thought Pittsburgh had a real shot at winning that one. Was good to see that the team can hold up even when Big Ben is out.

Wish I hadn't missed that game! I picked Steelers by 3. Shoot. Guess I can always become a Bengals fan. Not really.

Agreed. I've heard both Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco are hitting some sort of Sophomore Slump. Too bad for their teams. I expected both Ravens and Falcons to be better this year.

Good times. Great football. Last night's game and tonight's will make up for the lack of Cowboys. The downside of a Thanksgiving game is that on Sunday I don't know what to do with myself.

The Steelers defense was ON. Wish my Cowboys could play like that.

The fact that they needed to come back in the final minute just to get to OT, to get the win at home against a Steeler team without their best players on each side of the ball… kinda tells you that Baltimore won't last long IF they make the playoffs.
