After taking time to digest the atrocity that I witnessed two Sundays ago, I am still in shock of the complete meltdown. Tony Romo should be ashamed of himself for letting this happen again. Unfortuatly for Cowboys fans this happens far too often for comfort.

This has become the ongoing theme with Romo as our starting quarterback. He will play great for a while and start to earn fan confidence back, the it is almost like a light switch is turned on and he starts trying.g to do things that no sane QB in the NFL would do.

Hopefully Jerry Jones will get tired of this happy go lucky attitude and smack Romo upside the head. He either needs to take his job more serious, or realize he will never be as good as he thinks he is. The Dallas faithful can’t handle many more meltdowns before they turn on Romo and the team

First I would like to apologize for no post last week, but that damn 49′er game really gave the old ticker a workout. It took me a couple of weeks to recover.

Have you guys noticed how social media has turned boring events ie the grammy’s into must see events? Tweet streams of boring events is your tech equivalent of watching it at a bar with everyone shouting snarky comments.

Well that same scenario is playing out on boring sporting events. I’ll be honest had it not been for Twitter i would of turned off the Cowboys MNF game. It was boooring and the only thing that made it tolerable was reading some insane tweets from the diehard Cowboys fans.

And had I not been reading all the game tweets i would of missed another cardiac Cowboys comeback. Try it sometimes. Watch an otherwise boring event, or show, find the hashtag # in use and watch the snark fly.

On to the tweets:

I honestly had know idea LeBron “King” James was a Cowboys fan. See, you do learn something on twitter.

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/KingJames/status/118482775132217345"]

An early shout out to all the haters:

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/bghtwo/status/118488798496702464"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/ALUMNI_booty/status/118492147715555329"]

Then the skeptics had their say:

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/DScoul/status/118492870054387712"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/247SportsZone/status/118484246036873218"]

Cowboys running is still a question mark going forward regardless of a few big runs. Consistency is needed.

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/cptnmarv/status/118495849138491392"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/b_vincent/status/118495958211375104"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/ademmerson/status/118496593560346624"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/biglumpal/status/118496219675889664"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/richiewhitt/status/118498306736406528"]

Early on and through the night Cowboys nation was givin props to the defense and we continue to love us some Sean Lee.

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/SportsPlum71/status/118494988953845760"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/j0eo1s/status/118495187768057856"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/Kennymack1971/status/118495195389108224"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/Ekess33/status/118498748044296193"]

Then a flurry of Jenkins tweets when he left the game for a time because of injury. Lets just say some fans have little patience for injury prone DB’s:

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/DaMENACElo37/status/118501805276672000"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/boyet804/status/118501817545015296"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/EkappTheKingpen/status/118501823081488384"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/RmJackson13/status/118501824218136576"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/xchewbaccax/status/118502126438711296"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/RickSchell/status/118513497473683456"]

The love hate relationship with Romo also continued:

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/Nikkiaab/status/118511202526691331"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/dasindyson/status/118512277409378304"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/_meazy/status/118512281901473792"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/SeanMatthew13/status/118512487422365696"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/BobbyPulte/status/118528518396190721"]

Between the dropped passes, wrong routes ran, and the offensive lines play its like Romo was on the field by himself. But one guy that drew the fire of Cowboys fans was center Phil Costa for some terrible snaps and missed snaps. Although at the time Cowboys fans didn’t know the Deadskins were barkin snap calls at Costa, but quite honestly it probably wouldn’t of mattered much. Costa’s a pro and that excuse really only works in pop warner.

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/DylanManley/status/118527483598475265"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/AKhan03/status/118527545145692161"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/StephStouffer/status/118527550065623040"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/samhodapp/status/118527549163831296"]

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/Datboyct/status/118523515552018432"]

Surprisingly not alot of tweets for Cowboys kicker Bailey who’s rock solid leg was more reliable than anyone on the cowboys offensive line. Then again this tweet pretty much says it all:

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/iSaid_Go_Dj/status/118516870834962432"]

And we all know what happens at the end. Bailey kicks the game winning FG. At this point alot of Cowboys fans were either asleep, pissed at the game play or on facebook because not alot of tweets after the game. But one Cowboys HOF’er decided to give the boys a shout out with this dig at the Cowboys haters:

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/EmmittSmith22/status/118531354358063104"]

Tweet of the Game:

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/Cowboybutch/status/118531928432451584"]

OH, and to all the Romo haters this one is for you!! Ha!

[blackbirdpie url="https://twitter.com/#!/MDrisc/status/118524228822773761"]

Believe it or not, the Detroit Lions will be the biggest challenge Dallas has faced this year. Matthew Stafford is healthy and throwing out of his mind. Calvin Johnson is a top 5 receiver in the league.

Jahvid Best is showing himself to be a top 10 running back when healthy. Brandon Pettigrew, one of the players Detroit drafted thanks to the dog butted Roy Williams trade, is turning out to be a solid tight end. Nate Burleson and Titus Young are at least as good as the #2 and #3 receivers Dallas will put on the field Sunday.

And then there’s the defense. And Ndamukong Suh. And Kyle Vanden Bosch. And yes, even the curly haired Bobby Carpenter.

Cowboys will have their hands full this weekend.

[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvDZ7q8jtwU]

Keeping it Real

Now wait a minute. Did you watch that video? Yes, the Lions came back from a 20-0 deficit to win the game in Overtime. But you can hardly say that they demolished Minnesota.

In fact, I think you could argue that a couple fortunate pass plays are the only reason Detroit had a chance. So can the Lions repeat last week’s luck? Or will it finally catch up to them?

The upside for Detroit is that Calvin Johnson can catch just about any ball in his vicinity. So you don’t have to be pinpoint accurate on your throws.

But despite the epic comeback, I still see a Lions team that allowed 20 unanswered points in the first half. If Minnesota didn’t have so many problems, they would have run up the score and embarrassed Matthew Stafford.

Prediction: Cows Win

I’m going with Cowboys by 3. With a healthy Romo, Felix, and Miles, I’d take Dallas by 10. I think the banged up Cowboys will scrape out a win unless their receivers make a couple key mistakes that cost a couple interceptions.
