ESPNDallas.com, the next ESPN local site, is set to launch next Monday as the newest destination for Dallas/Fort Worth sports news and information. The site features exclusive, original content, content from contributors familiar to Texans, and original locally-relevant content created from ESPN’s multiple platforms, branded programming and award-winning contributors.

nathan-jawaishawne-williamsESPN’s Marc Stein reported that the Mavericks are “actively pursuing two-for-one trades in hopes of easing the roster logjam before training camp starts Sept. 28, with center Nathan Jawai and swingman Shawne Williams among those being made available.”

Williams is a third year veteran with a career 30.6% three-point shooting. Jawai is coming off his first year in the league with an average of only 3.2 minutes per game.

Since the Mavs just re-signed James Singleton, it’s important to maximize remaining bench players at each position. It’s a little late in the offseason to be making this effort, but we wish Cuban and Donnie great success.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, Avery Johnson is history. Randy Galloway called it before Game 5. Now the Mavs are in the hunt for a new head coach, and the entire team is in need a serious changes. Mavs fans have been living in a dream world if they think the aging bench of the Mavs will ever help them reach the Finals again.

Reality check time. Firing Avery was probably a rash move on the part of Mark Cuban. But if Avery was really as hard to get along with as Randy Galloway would have us believe, then this was perfect timing.
