The Three (Minus One) Headed Monster – Week 3

by Anothony on October 3, 2009

three-headed-monsterNo Barber? No problem. The Cowboys were able to pull out a 21-7 win over the still winless Carolina Panthers Monday night.

The Cowboys ground game was on it again this week, picking up 212 yards.

Tashard Choice led the way in a bit of a relief role with 18 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. Choice ended up with the majority of hte carries after Felix suffered another injury. Tashard once again showed his value to the team by providing a solid presence in the ground game while the other two backs nursed injuries.

Felix Jones had 8 carries for 94 yards, including a few electrifying runs that he almost broke for scores. Jones suffered a knee injury after he was tackled during a 40 yard run. At what point do be being to worry about the fragility/durability of Felix?

Marion the Barbarian not only didn’t play, but was apparently not even in the building as he recovers from strained quad. Hopefully he’ll be able for the upcoming game against the Broncos so Choice won’t have to bear the burden of too many carries.

This week, the Cowboys go up to the Mile High City to take on the 3-0 Denver Broncos. This will be the team’s first trip to Denver since September 13, 1998, when they lost to the Broncos, 42-23.
