A most frustrating Sunday evening in Green Bay for the Cowboys mercilessly ended with a 17-7 Packers victory. The only points Dallas scored came on a touchdown pass to Roy Williams with less than a minute to play in the game. The Monster was pretty much a non-factor (thanks Jason Garrett!) in the game, as they totaled 11 carries for 45 yards and 4 catches for 20 yards. For this backfield to have a TOTAL of 15 touches in any game is inexcusable and, I believe, the lack of committment to the ground game game played as big a part as any in this defeat.
Marion Barber got the start and looked like he would a decent day early on, but it was not to be. Barber finished with 5 carries for 26 yards and 3 catches for 11 yards. Marion did what he could do considering the circumstances, I just wish the running game hadn’t been abandoned so soon.
Felix Jones, are you still with us? Felix had 3 carries for 6 yards and return a couple of kickoffs for 19 yards. Jones still doesn’t look right and as a result is very tenative running the ball. If this is the kind of effort we’re goning ot see from him, maybe it’s time to sit Felix until he gets right.
Tashard Choice was the Wildcat, sorry, Razorback man again this week, with limited success this time around. Choice finished with 3 carries for 13 yards and 1 catch for 9 yards. If we’re talking about reducing Felix’s role until he gets right, then we need to discuss increasing Tashard’s role in the meantime. Tashard is the healthiest of the backs right now and I would much rather see him get more touches than keep running a timid-running Felix Jones out there.
The Cowboys return home to the Death Star to face their long-time division rival Washington Redskins. The Redskins will roll into town on a bit of a high, after their win against the Denver Broncos. There were a ton of injuries suffered by the Cowboys against the Packers, including a broken fibula for Marc Colombo. Let’s hope these injuries are able to heal up sooner rather than later. Let’s also hope Jason Garrett rediscovers what the Three-Headed Monster is capable of doing.
GO COWBOYS!!!

I completely agree about Tashard. While Felix is questionable at best and Marion has spotty success, put the ball in Choice's hands. Give him 20 carries and see how he does. The running game couldn't be much LESS effective, so why not?
They really have got to get the run game back on track; and the injuries to the O-line will make it that much more of a challenge.
